Mr Rich-Phillips moved as a reasoned amendment to the question that the Bill be now read a third time, That all the words after "That" be omitted with the view of inserting in their place the words —
“this Bill not be read a third time until a statement under section 85(5) of the Constitution Act 1975 explaining how the Bill limits the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court as proposed by clause 35, which proposes to insert a new section 301Z into the Principal Act, has been made.”.
This reasoned amendment was defeated.
